Nutritional Aspects
Wheat, the “Stuff of Life” has been
an essential commodity to human
existence through the centuries & is
currently the most widely consumed
staple food.
Wheat
& wheat products are nutritious.
Wheat flour naturally contains many
nutrients essential to human growth
& development. Wheat not only helps to
stimulate appetite, but also plays
an important role in ending “hidden
hunger”. This hidden hunger is
caused by subtle vitamins & minerals
(iron & folic acid) deficiencies
which in turn stimulate the
appetite.
To
overcome above deficiency, we carry
out fIour fortification. The aim of
fortification of flour is to supply
a balanced food to the consumer.
Composition of wheat flour: about
15% moisture, 60 – 70% Starch , 7 –
15% protein and oil, fiber and
minerals 2% each.
Fortified flour supplies the full
requirement of energy, protein,
iron, calcium, vitamin B1, and
nicotinic acid.
